2015 Conservation Easement Summit
On April 8 and 9th, 2015 County Commissioners, Legislators, landowners and the media gathered in Oakley, Kansas for KNRC’s first Conservation Easement Conference.
Speakers from across the country shared on a variety of CE topics, including the tax implications, litigation, land devaluation, and impacts of government-funded, environmental group sponsored Conservation Easement initiatives.
Complementing the CE talks was a lively discussion by a diverse panel of professionals: a Land Trust Executive, officials from the government and military, a landowner, and a well-known litigator.
The 2015 CE conference was topped off by Keynote Speaker and Congressman Tim Huelskamp, who spoke on current Environmental legislation and the listing of the Lesser Prairie-Chicken by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
